Governor's Message;  Leff Combs

We have a Winner!

Congratulations to Millie O’Neil, our first place winner. She will hold the bragging rights until we do it again in September. Reggie Guier placed second. Third place was yours truly, and fourth place went to Ed O’Neil. The Texas Hold’em tournament was a great success and we expect the next one to be even bigger. We will have a one day game on
July 12th at 4:00 just to keep your skills sharp. There will be a sign up sheet in the lodge. Sign up quick, there will be limited space.

Our Memorial Day picnic was a blast. We had a lot of fun with all the games and fellowship. The hamburgers and hot dogs weren’t too bad either. Thanks to Steve Ur for providing the musical entertainment.

Randy’s fish fry and karaoke with Steve is growing each month. Come enter the Moose Idol contest, just a one dollar donation and you will be voted on. The winner of each week will be entered into the finals in January. You karaoke singers come show your stuff and the rest of us can enjoy the entertainment. This is a lot of fun for everyone. Come and enjoy. Congratulations to Maddy Knox, our first finalist.

Some members are receiving their newsletters ahead of you. They signed up with Steve Ur. You will get your newsletter when it goes to print and receive Lodge activities and events from time to time. Email NorthBayMoose@tampabay.rr.com.

The District Meeting was held at Largo. We did it again. I can’t stop thanking all of our members who attended, that keeps North Bay on top in our District and I’m sure this will continue. We always have a lot of fun and get new and good information from the other lodges in our district. Please continue to show up and support your lodge. The next District Meeting is at our place. Let’s show them how North Bay packs the place. Be at our Lodge Sunday, June 8th by 12:30 to be counted.
Look for the sign, Members only, Membership card required.

The rule is you must have your card in your possession to be in the social quarters. Help the bartenders and have your card out to save time. They are busy serving our members, and please sign in your guests and teach them about our privacy rule so when they join they will be ahead of the game.

Spring has finally sprung, the flowers are starting to bloom, but they are not only blooming in our gardens as I can see, our co-workers also in full bloom. Our chapter is growing from the heart filled pride you all have installed in your lodge. I know the next few  months will only get better. Take pride in all that you have done as you are recognized more than you can possibly know.

We also want to do a special thanks to Debra Chapman and committee for the fabulous Filet Mignon Dinner held on May 17th. The presentation and organization of the evening (not to mention the great food) was extremely enjoyed by everyone. Thanks again for stepping up and doing such a great job.

Take note that on June 14th, your co-worker/bartender Lee Tarbutton and committee will be putting together an evening of fun and games. Casino nite with Black Jack-Roulette-Texas Hold’em and more. Pre buying your dinner tickets will give you more bonus money to play with and chances to win the awesome prizes. See the committee advertisement for more detail. DON’T MISS OUT ON THE FUN EVENING!

We also need to put a big heart filled thank you to everyone that showed support for the RELAY FOR LIFE, the spaghetti dinner and everything that was donated (time, energy and food). This was a big success and raised money for a good cause. The teamwork was outstanding.

The Academy of Friendship Ceremony was a special evening for all our ladies who took home the honors from the Orlando Convention in April. A special thanks goes out to Deena Cassabian and Rita Blair for their participation in making the evening very special for everyone.

Congratulations to Maddy Gaudreau for being recognized as the Volunteer of the Month. Your dedication to your Chapter and Community has been greatly appreciated.

New changes are happening with the Chapter Nite on the first Wednesday of the month. This night is now a combination of Chapter and Business meeting. Please come and welcome our new co-workers and enjoy an evening of fun and games. The first winner of the year was Peggy Oram who won a gift certificate to Randy’s famous fish fry.

The District Meeting was a great turnout at the Largo Lodge. The women tied with Largo women with 12 votes taking home the trophy for 1/2 the month. Please support your home lodge on June 8th at North Bay. Let’s keep our Lodge #1!
